"Red Fish Tails"
On the high tide, the redfish swim into the marsh grass, sometimes with only a few inches of water to sustain them. Shrimp, fiddler crabs, and finger mullet are all on the menu. On this high tide, when you are very quiet and observant, you can spot their tails breaching the surface, as they feed on the muddy bottom. This particular scene I have only witnessed once, when I have seen 3 reds on patrol, single file, but just to the side of one another, as they fill up before the water drains from the grass. I went back to my studio and cut this silhouette out that same day, not wanting to forget any details.
